Matthew 24:24 "For false
Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and miracles to
deceive even the elect if that were possible. 25 "See, I have told you ahead of
time. 26 "So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go
out; or, 'Here, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27 "For just as
lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the
coming of the Son of Man. NIV
Jesus' warning here is very clear and
straightforward. If someone says to you, "you can't see him but Jesus has
returned and is over here or over there". "DO NOT BELIEVE HIM". The return of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be as visible and as obvious as lightning.
Jesus will not be hidden or invisible. We will not need anyone or any
organization to explain it to us when He returns.
This warning fits the teachings of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society like a
tailored suit.
In the late 1870's the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society taught that Jesus
returned invisibly in 1874 and would destroy the world governments and false
religion by 1914. When this prophecy failed, as have all of the Watchtower Bible
and Tract Society's prophecies, they changed their teaching and began to teach
that Jesus returned invisibly in 1914 not 1874. (Here He is in 1874! - There He
is in 1914!)
Matthew 24:26 could well read "If anyone says to you here He is in 1874 or there
He is in 1914 do not believe him. For just as the lightning that comes from the
east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man." Note
that Matthew uses the word "visible". The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has
always claimed Jesus returned invisibly. Furthermore, for anyone to understand
that Jesus returned in 1874 or the current date, 1914 they must study the
Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's publications with Jehovah's Witnesses to
learn the complicated formula used to prove the return of Jesus. A formula
hidden in the pages of Watchtower Bible and Tract Society publications does not
sound like lightning in the east that can be seen in the west.
Jesus said His return would be as obvious and as visible as lightning, not
invisible, and certainly not some secret event that could only be understood by
a small group of men, who must in turn publish volumes of information to explain
the formula used to determine the dates; A formula so complicated that the
measurements of the great pyramids had to be used for its completion.
All we need to know about the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is in
the Holy Bible. The return of Jesus Christ will be visible and obvious to all,
not just a select few.
Jehovah's Witnesses claim that Jesus has returned invisibly first in 1874, now
they say it was 1914. They claim his return is a secret to all but the
Watchtower Bible and Tract Society and those that will listen to their
teachings.
The truth about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is revealed to us by the Holy
Sprit through the pages of the God's Holy word the Bible. It is not hidden in
the pages of the publications of any religious organization or in the
measurements of the pyramids.
