Who am I and What is TowerWatch Ministries?

I was a Jehovah's Witness for 35 years, served as an Elder for over 20 years and am now a born-again Christian. It is my prayer that this web site will help Christians reach Jehovah's Witnesses with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and help Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses through the processes of leaving the Watchtower organization. In addition to my web site I provide support group meetings in the Columbus, Ohio area for those who have left or are thinking about leaving the Watchtower Organization. I am also available to speak at churches and Bible study groups explaining what Jehovah's Witnesses believe and how Christians can best share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Jehovah's Witnesses.

I am committed to this ministry because while I know Jehovah’s Witnesses are sincere, I also now know they are seriously misled, a fact they of course they are not aware of, and a fact the Watchtower Organization works very hard to keep them from discovering. I am committed to this ministry because the Watchtower Organization puts a hedge around its followers making it very difficult for them to learn the truth about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are not allowed to attend any other church, nor read any religious material that is not written by the Watchtower Organization. They are not allowed to watch any religious TV shows or listen to any Christian radio programs, and they are constantly warned not to read anything about God, religion, the Bible and especially Jehovah’s Witnesses on the Internet. They are not allowed to socialize with any non-witness, including non-witness family members. The best chance they have of hearing the message of grace that our Lord Jesus Christ taught is for us as Christians to take the time to help them one on one. It would be wonderful if every one of us could help every Jehovah’s Witness that comes to our door to accept Christ as his or her savior. Realistically we all know that is not going to happen, be assured though some Jehovah’s Witnesses are finding Christ in this manner. But even if you are never able to help a Jehovah’s Witness come to Christ you will a least be aware of the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses and be able help others avoid becoming a victim of the Watchtower Organization.
 
That’s why I have developed this web site, I have a message that I feel is very important, this web site is in the beginning stages so please bookmark www.towerwatch.com and check back often for updates. As part of that message I’d like to tell you a little about myself.

Statement of Faith

I believe the Bible to be inspired by God, without error in the original writings and that it is the only authority for Christian belief and practice.

I believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

I believe that Jesus Christ, who retained His Deity while becoming a man, was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and is truly God and truly man. I look forward to His imminent, physical, and visible return to earth for His followers at His Second Coming.

I believe the Good News of the Gospel by which we are saved consists of the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I recognize no single human organization or religious church as being the sole proprietor of spiritual instruction. The Holy Spirit through the Word of God, teaches each one who has placed his or her trust in the sufficiency of Christ. This unity of true born again believers transcends denominational barriers and forms the Body of Christ, united in the Holy Spirit.

I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood, are born again of the Holy Spirit, and become children of God.

I believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension and into heaven and His present life there for us as a High Priest and Advocate.

My Mission

 It is my desire to help those who have left the Watchtower organization by providing them with the support they need. I also want to reach present Jehovah’s Witnesses by helping Christians know how to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them. TowerWatch Ministries gives me an opportunity to help others learn more about Jehovah's Witnesses and how to help them through this web site and seminars.

About Cal Lehman

I began studying with Jehovah's Witnesses in 1961, and was baptized in 1964. I served as a congregation elder for over 20 years. In 1999 I officially left the Watchtower organization. I gave my life to Christ shortly after leaving. TowerWatch Ministries gives me an opportunity to help others learn more about Jehovah's Witnesses and how to best reach them with the gospel of Jesus Christ. TowerWatch Ministries also gives me a chance to help others who have come out of the Watchtower organization with support groups. See my testimony for more details.

I have a burning desire to tell others about Jehovah’s Witnesses, not because I have any hard feelings about the 35 years I spent in that organization, because I don’t. I want to tell you about Jehovah’s Witnesses because I was there, I know Jehovah’s Witnesses are sincere when they come to your door with their message. They are ordinary people just like you and me. It’s not easy to get out of bed early every Saturday and Sunday morning put on a suit and tie just to have people slam their doors in your face. During my years of going door to door as a Jehovah’s Witness I had dogs turned loose on me, I was shoved from a porch, and even had a gun pointed at me. I don’t know if it was loaded, I didn’t stick around to find out. Believe me when I say Jehovah’s Witnesses are sincere. The Jehovah’s Witness at your door honestly believes God will soon release His wrath on this world and all people that are not Jehovah’s Witnesses, regardless of how sincere their love for God may be, will be destroyed. So no matter how rude people are to them they will keep coming back because they want you to survive the day of God’s wrath or Armageddon as they call it.
